Jamie Clancey, LCSW
Jamie Clancey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has operated a private counseling and coaching practice since 2013. Since 2003, Jamie has worked in various capacities including psychiatric inpatient hospitalization, community based counseling, outpatient services, and residential services.
Jamie advocates for the public on a state level through her involvement as Board Chair for Voices for Virginia’s Children, a non-profit agency that advocates for children in the Commonwealth in the areas of mental health, early childhood education, foster care/adoption, healthcare, and juvenile justice. Also on a State level, Jamie is a member of the Virginia State Board of Social Work and was appointed to the board in July 2015. Recently, Jamie was appointed to the state SOL Innovation Committee and will work with various other community members to improve the SOL test for Virginia.
Locally, Jamie is a member of the Board of Directors for SAFE, the Culpeper Wellness Foundation, and is a founding board member of The Greater Piedmont Trauma Informed Community Network. She is also the most recent new member of the Culpeper Town Council as she was elected into office in November 2015.
Jamie is happily married to Thomas Clancey, and they have three children, Jayce, 9, India, 8, and Cameron, 5. She and her family have lived in Culpeper since 2007.
Jamie's involvement with SAFE began in September 2014. She is member of the board of directors and helps to raise funds and community support for the program. Service to Abused Families (SAFE) provides services needed for families and individuals who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to leave or manage their abusive situation. Services include group and individual support counseling, help navigating the legal system, connection to services, employment/housing support, and emergency shelter if needed. All services are free and this is only possible through grant funding and financial support from the public.
