ALLISON METZGER & Dawn BILLOW

Dawn and Allison are often asked if they are sisters or people assume they’ve known each other “forever”. Many are shocked to realize that they have only known each other for a little over three years. They first met at a “big box” real estate firm. Dawn was the only agent working in the office on a holiday when Allison called to inquire about joining the brokerage. It was serendipitous that Dawn answered the phone as they instantly shared a like-minded business mentality.

Dawn had been in the real estate business for over a decade, opened offices and ran her own teams. After nearly 20 years in the marketing and public relations fields, Allison chose to change careers to pursue her love of real estate. In 2013, they combined their skills, took a leap and opened Picket Fence Realty, LLC.

Starting the company from the ground-up was both professionally and personally fulfilling. They ran the business out of Allison’s basement and within six months, they moved into downtown office space in the heart of Leesburg, VA. The space was double the size they needed, but they were determined to fill the space and it had one key feature, a front yard with a white picket fence!
