MIRIAM NASUTI
noVa WELLNESS YOGAFEST & RETREAT

As an award winning entrepreneur a serendipitous opportunity through her participation in LEAD Virginia’s Class of 2011, a state-wide think-tank group - www.LeadVA.org, led Miriam Nasuti to SW Virginia for a weekend in the spring of 2011.  While there she fell in love with what she recalls as an area with a sense of healing, so returned with her family that July for what was an amazing week-long, nature and outdoor activity filled vacation. While there Miriam saw a poster for the Inaugural Floyd YogaJam and decided to return with her son Connor a month later to attend. She was taken aback by the experience of community and calm it offered all weekend long, so attended four other weekend long Yoga Festivals over the past three years as she considered bringing a unique and special one to NoVa, an area she feels needs the experience.

Nasuti took her time as she and her family experienced what she refers to as ‘the pain you sustain with the change of life.’  As a result her initial vision expanded to  assure a focus on overall wellness and calm, that a very relaxed, wrapped around gardens and nature YogaFest Retreat venue was chosen - Morven Park in Leesburg; a schedule of Yoga classes, meditation and workshops that offer a peaceful experience as opposed to running from one tent to another to find your preferred Yoga practice, which led her to theming the Yoga areas as such - the Calm Yoga Grove, the Active Movement Yoga Tent and the Blended Tent; to assure fresh, tasty and healthy food with both vegetarian and vegan offerings are served by a Chef and culinary team carefully selected, and finally that the music chosen to close out each evening was done to combine both emotionally moving, uplifting and thought provoking songs as well as, in some cases, tunes that’ll get folks up to dance a bit because she knows it always feels great to do so!

As with all Nasuti’s prior projects (Talk Loudoun, Farm-to-Fork Frederick and Farm-to-Fork Loudoun - www.FarmToForkLoudoun.com), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization is chosen to receive five-percent (5%) of the Sponsor’s gross receipts. The inaugural year’s meaningful charity of record is ‘The Ryan Bartel Foundation,’ in memory of young Ryan whose spirit has been part of our planning —www.RyanBartelFoundation.org
